Puro Chingones is an independent food truck review site built by people who actually care about street food — not SEO, not ad revenue, not brand deals.
How It Started
In 2021, I was trying to find a good birria truck in San Antonio. Every "best food trucks" list he found was either three years old, clearly sponsored, or written by someone who'd never left their zip code.
So I started writing MY own. No ads, no affiliate links, no free meals. Just honest reviews of trucks I'd actually visited, written for people who actually wanted to eat well.
Word spread. Other reviewers joined. The list grew. And Puro Chingones became what it is today — the most trusted independent food truck guide in U.S.
How We Operate
We have never accepted money, free meals, or any compensation in exchange for a review. Every truck earns its spot.
No review goes up without a real visit. We order multiple items, go back more than once, and only publish when we're sure.
We cover trucks that reflect real communities — family recipes, immigrant stories, neighborhood legends. Not just the ones with good Instagram.
We focus on Texas first. We'd rather know every great truck in San Antonio than have a shallow list of 1,000 trucks nationwide.
Get Involved
We rely on tips from real people who eat at real trucks. If you've found something special, put us on — we'll go check it out ourselves.
